Registro’s comic strip “exhibits” itself

The exhibition of Registro . it entitled “Nabbo e Linda a Internetopoli - Fumetti e illustrazioni di Gabriele Peddes per la cittadinanza digitale” was held in Bologna. Over the course of two weeks, said exhibition, which was sponsored by the Municipality of Bologna, saw the displaying of Gabriele Peddes’ original drawings and sketches, taken from the two comic strips belonging to the Internetopoli series and included within the Comics&Science collection, published by the CNR.

Nabbovaldo and Linda are the protagonists of the comic-book adaptation of the story written by the class IC of the “Sandro Pertini” comprehensive school of Lajatico (PI), winner of the “.itContest” competition launched on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the first .it domain. Said competition was based on the Internetopoli didactic app and was targeted towards junior secondary school students. Nabbovaldo, namely the alter ego of Calvino’s Marcovaldo, is a naive boy caught between the dangers and opportunities of an anonymous metropolis (the Internet) of the ‘60s; his girlfriend Linda helps him navigate the city.

The opening event of the exhibition saw the participation of Domenico Laforenza (Director of the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of the Pisa National Research Council of Italy); Mirko Degli Esposti (UniBo Deputy Vice Chancellor), Andrea Plazzi (translator, essayist and editor); Giovanni Eccher (screenwriter); Gabriele Peddes (cartoonist) and Diego Cajelli (writer, cartoonist and screenwriter).

The exhibition also saw the launch of the latest comic strip of the Internetopoli series, entitled “Nabbovaldo contro i pc zombie”, which was once again drawn by Gabriele Peddes based on a script by Giovanni Eccher. The comic strip is available on the special issue of Comics&Science.
