This procedure is aimed at making sure that the Public Administration requesting the registration meets all the requirements to be given a gov.it name. A duly delegated person for the procedure shall:
- access the page https://gov-it-validation.nic.it;
- sign in using their Public Digital Identity System (SPID);
- fill in the form presented by the system;
- after filling it, a summary of the data entered will be displayed and it shall be confirmed by the delegated person.
Once data is confirmed, the Registro will send the validationCode, as well as the Registrant’s data to be communicated to the Registrar, to the requesting Public Administration’s certified email address (PEC).
The validation procedure shall also be carried out in case the Registrant changes, and in case the Registrar changes and the Registrant changes at the same. In both cases, if the new Registrant’s contact has never been created before, the Public Administration has to carry out the validation procedure in order to receive, by certified email address (PEC), the validation code and the Registrant’s data to be communicated to the Registrar.
validationCode
The validation code shall be indicated in all the requests of registration of domain names to the gov.it domain.
The code is valid for 6 months after the date of issue. When it expires, the validation procedure can be carried out again. The procedure shall also be carried out again in case the code gets lost and data change (name, IPA code, UO code – if any).
If a new code is issued, the previous validation code will automatically be invalidated.
